Fiber count
- 2F — core residential drop (most installs).
- 4F — MDU, spare fiber, future-proofing.
- 6F+ — higher density / light commercial.
Length ladder
- 1,000 ft — shorter runs, lower entry cost, less leftover.
- 2,000 ft — standard installer reel.
- 3,000 ft — bulk residential / fewer mid-span splices.
Dielectric vs Toneable
- Dielectric — non-metallic; typical aerial / duct drop.
- Toneable — locate conductor for direct bury.
